Diamond Head Beach
Hanuama Bay Nature Preserve
Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, one of the most spectacular natural resources in Hawaii, is reaping the benefits of over a decade of moves to re-establish its pristine marine ecosystem. Recognizing the damage done by years of neglect and abuse by allowing some three million visitors annually, the City and County of Honolulu in 1990 laid out a plan to restore Hanauma to a clean, healthy state by reducing the number of visitors, establishing an education program, and instituting supportive restrictions.
Hanauma Bay is Not a “beach park” for beach sport, but a Nature Preserve dedicated to safeguarding the fragile marine life in the Bay, it is the first Marine Life Conservation District in the State.
Useful Important Information, please read carefully:
Hanauma Bay is not a “Beach Park”. This is a Marine Life Conservation Area. no pets allowed, no alcoholic beverages, no fishing or feeding the fish, do not remove, harass or harm any marine life.

Hanauma Bay is currently Closed on Tuesdays, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. All holiday hours are subject to change without notice..
- Hanauma Bay Open hours are: 6:00am to 7:00pm.
- $1 per car parking fee - arrive early as the lot fills quickly and expect long lines.
- Currently$5 per person admission fee, Call 808-396-4229 for recorded message with current fees.
Free for children under 13 years and for Hawaii residents and military stationed in Hawaii with proper ID.
Visitors are required to watch an educational film about the bay, the marine life and the preserve prior to going down to the beach.
Paved walkway from entrance down to beach
Optional shuttle bus available to bring visitors up and down the hill to the beach. – currently fee is $1 per person each way. Handicap accessible.
Remember to bring your Sunscreen and Camera.
Do not forget to make your souvenirs with pennies for memories to take home (Gift shop at the entrance).

Haleiwa Beach – North Shore
North Shore Oahu, Hawaii. 10 minutes north of the Historic Haleiwa Town with it’s shops, restaurants and harbor. 5 minutes South of Waimea Bay in the heart of the world Famous North Shore. Only 45 minutes from the Airport and a hour away from the bustling night life in Waikiki.

Haleiwa Turtle Beach – Laniakea Beach
Laniakea beach or Lani’s is also referred to as “Turtle beach”. “This place is cool you can get up close watch and take a picture with sea wild turles. One of the best beach famous for their resident turtles that swim along the shore and rest on the beach”.
Note: Be careful and do not touch the turtles(Honu), because they are protected. Always pay attention to posted signs.
You can get here by taking a Circle Island Bus from Ala Moana shopping center or it can be a quick stop if you rent a car.

Waikiki BeachA place to relax away from work, stresses of a busy life.
Waikiki Beach is the world’s most famous beach, streching along 2-1/2 mile of sea from famous Diamond Head Crater to Ala Wai Harbour. Waikiki known in Hawaiian as “spouting waters,” it is the center of the island’s life, with its long beachside strip of hotels, restaurants, art galleries, small stores to famous brand stores, night clubs, and activities like surfing for beginners, swimming, sailing, picnic, snorkeling, evening hawaiian dance show by local artists, and of course, sunbathing.
O‘ahu is home to arguably some of the best chefs in the world.

Please have in mind, always pay attention to signs posted on the beach, Whatever beach you visit in hawaii, the ocean currents can be very dangerous. If you are not sure about the conditions, ask the lifeguards (if any on the beach).
